and if you're going to spend a bit of time in the car you might as well do a bit of knitting. Apparently I'm a much better back seat driver when I have a bit of knitting or crochet on the go, to the point that when I offer a bit of driving 'advice' I'm now asked where my knitting is?????? men!
Well its AFL grand final day so I'm off to supervise the kiddies while retro daddy enjoys two of his favourite loves....beer and football!
My hubby loves the AFL too. I'll be baby sitting and cooking lamb roast while he kicks back. Love the manequins too. They look to be in good condition.
ReplyDeleteRe the back seat driving , my husband says "aren't you enjoying that book ?" Men !!! Love your new girls .
ReplyDeleteThe little mannequins look very cute and quite helpful with modelling your beautiful clothes. What are you knitting, it looks quite nice. We too are inside out of the cold whilst the dad is outside in the garage enjoying footy and beer!
ReplyDeleteThere was lots of footy and beer at our house too this afternoon. He's a bit sad now but ok. I think your car would have probably looked pretty funny on the way home with your new friends on board.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you knit while in the car. I've recently started doing that as well, with precisely the intention of distracting me from my husband's driving! He wasn't very happy when he found out yesterday afternoon on our way home!
ReplyDeletePerfect little mannequins, they will be very handy.
ReplyDeleteOh how funny, Tillie chatting to her new blank sibling!! Must admit once my son picked up a mannequin in a store & carried him around the store. His new friend was dressed in school uniform & while my real boy had never thought to pick up a dummy before, there was something awfully friendly about this one (hard plastic). Seeing the service was so bad in store & no one said anything, i let him play with his new buddy, until it was time to leave & he was put back into position. Totally bizarre, it's never happened since.
ReplyDeleteAs a non football family (we have way too many daughters & we'll only tolerate rugby) the AFL final has been & gone. The supermarket was conveniently empty though, thanks foot ball fans!!
I always hand sew, stitch or cut out fabric circles for penny wheels or badges on trips. After 15 years with my husband, he knows i can concentrate on sewing & give directions, pass drinks around to 4 children 3 rows back & still comment on his music choices.
His trick is to download pod casts, Hamish & Andy are hilarious & the children love them too. Sad but true, we have Hamish B & Andy Lee Wii Mii players. The children make them challenge each other in contests, quite hilarious.
Happy travels & thanks Corrie!!
Love Posie
Hahaha -- I can just imagine the confusion that Tillie must be having -- must be great entertainment though! And you cracked me up with the driving comment -- my hubby feels the same way -- knitting has probably saved many a marriage LOL!
