fairy tale + free motion

I looooove fairy tale fabrics and I'm learning to love free motion quilting. I'm definitely a beginner and sometimes get myself stuck in a corner or move too fast taking my stitch with me but thankfully keira doesn't have a critical eye!!!!! And practise makes perfect so I just need to practise!

free motioning beginner

I made this quilt top a few years ago and it has been sitting patiently just waiting for me to finish it off!

I also made the top before I got too precious about my older fairy tale fabrics....I find it very hard to cut into them at the moment!

It looks fantastic Corrie. I dont think I would be any good at trying the free motion sewing although Isabelle has been asking me to make her a quilt. I find it a bit daunting but my sister does make lots of them, mostly by hand though and it takes years to do. I am sure Miss Keira will love hers too when it is finished. You will be able to get lots of practice when you make one for Miss Tillie and Master Finn!

Your quilting looks great. It does take a bit of practice. Love the fabrics too, I can see why you are attached to them.

I think your quilting looks great.
I especially like the added loopy bits and little flowers here and there.

That looks great Corrie. I want to try free motion quilting but am not sure how to start, did you take a class or just read stuff online and give it a go?
Keria's going to love it!

WOW! Looks amazing Corrie, I MUST give free-motion a try. Maybe I'll start with a pot holder or something else very small.

So cute!! Adorable fabric!! It looks great! I need to learn how to do the free motion quilting, but I am just trying out machine quilting so I am starting with straight lines for now!!
