another day in paradise

yep, just one of those days! Mummies you know how it is, you seem to get nothing done, everyone is fighting with each other, you chase your tail all day.....the twins have learnt to climb onto the table and just want to spend all day up there and no sooner do you take them down do they climb up again....so after bathtime I just gave in, let them play at the table and got a bit of peace and quiet (and some cute photos)......

fresh out of the bath

but once I pushed in the benches there were tears.......oh their little sad faces but it was getting dangerous as they were shoving each other to reach for things.

I want to climb up.....

at the end of the day they have been fed, watered, cleaned and loved and someone once told me so long as you do that you're doing well with twins. Tomorrow is a new day............and hopefully there will be craft tomorrow!

  1. This made me laugh, my little man was obsessed with climbing on the table a while back and thought he was Superman.
My heart would be in my mouth each time (he was so quick) but thankfully he seems to of stopped doing it now.

  2. you know Corrie, we had my 10 month old niece here for a while today and i found that utterly consuming (and the house was a wreck after she left!!) - what it's like to have that times three just takes my breath away. But the photos make it all look worth it. How they're growing up, those cute guys!

  3. oh and by guys obviously I mean that generically - not to imply both are boys. I know that!!

  4. Oh Tilly is such a pretty girl isnt she, I think that is the best photo of her I have seen, so angelic. Finn is such a cutie too and looks like a cheeky one! My god-daughter loves to climb on tables, even at child care she gets up on them and thinks she is so clever, it must be a height thing I think. Nothing stops her from climbing on them and she isnt even 2 yet.

I always thought it would be nice to have a twin to get into mischief with. :D

  6. They're soooo cute! Sometimes it's worth giving in to get a little peace and quiet. My two are 11 and 9, and they still spend a fair portion of the day fighting, sigh!
On a brighter note, I went back to S/L today, and found some of the binding. I bought red and aqua spots and stripes. Thanks for the tip.

  8. Finn is so like keira, rather than the girls looking alike. And both so big and grown up. They both look so cuddly, and sweet smelling after a bath. You do a great job!

  9. Oh, so you bother pushing the benches under so they can't climb?? My twins used each other as leg up/ stepping stools & peer pressure/ cheer leader to climb & find danger. You can baby proof your house for one, but twins bring their own ladder with them!! In the end, i found they rarely fell & seemed to like being up high like cats?? They've made it to 8, something worked!! Love to your beautiful twins, they are happy & healthy, you're right, they have the world!!
Must be the day for it, i just did a child only post, no craft or distractions, just children!! Love Posie

  10. This age is terrible for mummies sometimes, but make great pictures. Just remember them with a laugh. They are so cute!

  11. My three boys were all climbers too. We fixed it so upstairs windows were safe and left them to it. Youngest fell off the piano when he was 16 months old, but it didn't dampen his enthusiasm at all.

Just looking at the pictures makes me feel nostalgic for the fed, bathed, watered and loved thing. Then I wake up to myself, LOL.

  13. Oh, how cute they are. My sister has twin grandsons and they play so well together and keep each other company.. Oh, they have their meltdowns just like any other 5 year old but they are really good. Yours look so adorable how could you not give in to them?? Take care, the time goes so fast.

  14. Yes, I remember those days. They will be grown up in the blink of an eye, but it doesn't seem that way when you are living it each day.

  15. My boys were not climbers at all.... my baby girl, WOW! she is a little-miss-get-into/onto-everything! Happy-happy fun times! (and tiring at times)
We mommies and daddies try to keep our kids safe, but we also know they need to explore and learn, all the while we're laughing at them and loving their every new discovery.... it's such a short time in their lives and we need to embrace every second of it!
Great job you're doing with your three little loves! They're so yummy sweet!

  17. I don't believe those little angels would actually push each other , surely butter wouldn't melt in their mouth . I found it hard getting stuff done with one toddler at a time ,you're doing a fantastic job with two !

  18. What cutie pies! I didn't realize you had twins. How old are they? You sure do look like you have your hands full, I'm amazed at all you do get done!

  19. Yep - the twincesses and I have many, many days when we don't make it out of our jammies !

Trying to dress active two year old twins is an acquired skill :)

  20. I'm so glad I found this blog. Not only is it about quilting/crafting but the stuff about twins makes it great too.

Being a mom of 2yr old twin girls I constantly find myself nodding my head when I read your posts..."Yep. Been there done that. Just wait until they......" LOL.

My 8yr old is some help but often she's right there in the thick of things with them. *sigh* LOL

  22. Could they possibly be ANY cuter??? And it still amazes how much you manage to do and that's without even thinking about the fact there are twins thrown in there too. Wow. Wow.
