knitting weather

Keira asked me this morning, 'are we having a home day mummy?' and I said yes straight away! One of the nice things about being a stay at home mummy is deciding when you'll take home days where you wear whatever you like and don't leave the house all day. The big heater is on, I sorted out all the toys (it's been on my to do list for like forever) - so we have now plastic tubs dedicated to each little person and 3 garbage bags full of toys going to the local jumble sale.

And I'm also knitting...remember this bolero/shrug I made for miss tillie last year....it's one of my all time favourite knitting patterns and I'm making it again in the largest size for her.

And I'm also counting down the days till some absolutely gorgeous knitting books arrive from the UK. I'd never heard of millamia until I read Knitter Sue's blog yesterday.

But oh my I've fallen for their gorgeous colours, modern designs and the fact they are in baby and kids sizes means I can knit for all my little ones and totally justify the addition of 2 new knitting books to my huger than huge craft book library. I just hope it travels quickly.......

because I'm itching to get started especially as there are knits for all seasons! I also love how you can see all the patterns in the book before you order it! Sorry if I make you go over there and order them yourself, I just had to share how gorgeous they were! Oh and you can pre-order them at wool shack I see, just go here

I actually ordered the second book last night Corrie from their website (which is cheaper than in Oz) so I cant wait either. So many gorgeous patterns and I can just imagine how cute your 3 little ones will look in them too.

I've been knitting, too - even though I really should be saving that for taking places where I can't quilt! And Eleanor still just fits in the bolero you knitted for her, we love ti!

I'd never heard of them either so thanks for the tip! I'll be saving the order until we hit Autumn here in the UK, I just love the stripey baby blanket in the 2nd book! Justine xx

they are lovely books - I saw them today at Gretas in Lindfield. And the yarn too, which is so soft and lovely.

Oh stop it you wicked woman! You MADE me go and look at the books. Even though I'm a 1cm per month-speed knitter..... Very noice books. Hope yours arrive speedily. And I agree, I love the privilege of being a sahm and having the choice of what to do with the day at your fingertips is a wonderful luxury.

Corrie, you're a girl after my own heart. I have a million children's knitting books and the most divine French ones you've ever seen. I SO wish I had more time to knit and plan to make the time... I love it so. Here is the last thing I knitted for Ella last year... http://taniamccartney.blogspot.com/2009/06/i-finished-anorak.html. Tx
