I love when a new sponsored post opportunity comes along for a brand that I love and totally embrace. Big W is such a brand. I am in there almost every week. Why? It's my one stop shop! Nappies, formula, a cookbook (best prices for books in my opinion), baby clothes, a DVD for the kids (best price for DVD's), hardware item for retro daddy, lunchbox, a bag of lollies, school supplies and so on. I always need something from in there and it always saves me time and money doing it all in one go.

I always need something from in there and it always saves me time and money doing it all in one go.
And I love a good budget challenge. Retro daddy probably wishes that I used and applied the word budget a little more in my everyday life. But with baby number 5 on board I am ready to embrace the word budget. And so I received a $100 Big W voucher to put together some outfits for my twinnnies and show you how great Big W's kids clothing range really is.
quality control
And I'm loving that I put a complete outfit for each twin together and came in under $100. Retro daddy, are you loving that? And what I love is that I haven't needed to deviate from my normal style I like to dress my little ones in. Yes I have a style for each of them.
Now when it comes to my girls I love cardigans, ruffles and sweet girly styles in pinks, reds and navy. This sweet cardigan was on special for $19.99 and I was immediately drawn to it. It looks like it cost a lot more than the price. Teamed with a $5 long sleeve rib tee and $9 skinny jeans. No, I am not kidding $9 skinny jeans. I normally buy the little one's jeans on special in the winter clearance sales but $9 as the regular price is pretty nice. And they are a great colour and quality. And there you have it, this outfit came in at $33.99. Totally adorable, totally my style - I mean Tillie's style - and a great price.
Now for my Finnie boy I love navy, preppy and a classic look for him. So I started with jeans. Now unfortunately Big W were all out of $9 jeans in his size but I got this great pair for $17 so still well under what I'd normally pay for his jeans. I picked up a few long sleeve tees starting from $4.48 and these will be perfect for preschool because he insists on painting every time he goes. I loved these two preppy tees and they are totally what I'd buy for finn but for much less money. See, I totally loved this challenge.
And for a little bit extra I picked up this great tracksuit for finn. Again for preschool but it came in under $20 but fits my classic, navy and preppy style.
And there you have it. That is retro mummy shopping on a budget for kids clothes in Big W. Hopefully I have proved that you don't need to compromise style or quality to buy for less and that your kids can be looking great this winter. And I also loved that I picked up maternity clothes at the same time. See one stop shop. Love it. Thank you Big W for this great shopping challenge.
I'll be back in a few days with some great pictures of a little photo shoot we did with Rachel Devine of Sesame Ellis at my favourite park.

Good shopping Corrie! I eyed off that ruffled cardigan too, but I stuck to buying as many basics as I needed. Looking forward to seeing Rachel's photos next week.
Wow! You bought some amazing items, I'm going in tomorrow to see if I can score the items you bought for Finn for my 3yo son!
Fantastic! Big W could do a lot more with their merchandising don't you think? Best & Less also have some lovely kids clothes and the quality is fantastic, they wash and wear really well. Love the outfits you picked!
Great outfits.
I was really happy with Big W's selection of basic t-shirts in good colours at the beginning of spring/summer. They complemented my daughter's wardrobe perfectly. You've reminded me that I need to pop in there now to look for some winter basics.
OMG Corrie we have the same style!
We went shopping at Big W last week and guess what I bought?
The $9 jeans for the boys - 2 pairs for Ethan for Kindy. Lots of the $4odd longsleeve tshirts for kindy to (yep same reason - paint!)>
I bought the other longsleeve top too but in the other colour way.
And guess what tracksuit I bought Eli??? He wore his yesterday as it was rather chilly here.
Hilarious!
you obviously have great taste too, Becci!
Got to love budget shopping. I'm always getting great stuff from op shops but there is hardly ever anything for boys. My theory; boys destroy their clothes before they can be passed on and I'm pretty sure the men just never part with their clothes (they wear them til they fall apart!)
Such cute outfits :) this challenge was a lot of fun, Aidan and I loved getting his outfits too, can't wait to see your photoshoot!
nice clothes. :)
Ohhh Big W. When I lived in a big city - and yes, I woudl even class Brisbane as a big city - I would have gone to Big W. But being a mum and moving to Darwin - where we don't have Myer or David Jones etc. So the er, "bugdet" department stores have dressed my kids. And EVERYONE always comments on Frankie's clothes, and I will always proudly say, "oh it's from that boutique, you know, Le Grande Double OO".
Can I just point out that I had only just started drinking my coffee when I wrote that post - and no, I didn't have a big night last night. Lack of coffee is surely the only reason why I couldn't string words into a sentence in my comment :S
I wish we had a Big W here in Chicago I love those prices. Little bodies grow faster than my wallet does :-)
Great buys Corrie! They are all pretty too...Thanks for the share. Luv
I saw that cardigan in one of your earlier posts pic on Tilly and immediately recognised it as I bought the same one for Miss E the other day! It's great quality considering the price. I must go back this week and grab the jeans.
Can't go wrong with $9 jeans! I wish my little miss would wear jeans, but alas, she refuses, and will only wear leggings, which show wear & tear a lot quicker! Love that cardigan too.
Kids clothes don't need to last forever and BigW have good enough quality for the normal growing child. I loved their adjustable waists for my kiddies as they always were tinier in the that area. Cherrie
Wish we had a Big W, too many snooty boutiques in the town I'm from, $100 for organic soy blend bootie!!
It has to be a compliment that I read you blog and consider how much fun it would be having a 3rd child, because you make it seem such a life to be cherished. I was going to say 'easy' - but that's probably not the right word!
Such Gorgeous clothes. My (almost) 3 year old is growing out of his clothes left and right. Will have to duck into BigW tonight and see what I can come up with.
I was really surprised at how wide the range was. Our littlest loves his tops. Looking forward to seeing the photos too.
I love the colors you chose .. the pink of the tops and the blue of the jeans :)
Warmest regards
Ruby
I love BIGW too!!! Don't forget you buy online as well, if you don't have one closeby. This has also prompted me to duck in my BigW to start a layby for my winter clothes for my 3.
Fantastic Corrie, what a great post. Big W is quite awesome isn't it? I'm a bit like you and use it as a one stop shop and the prices really are the most competitive for many items.
Love the outfits, well done at working it on the budget... but you do have fabulous style too, which helps :o) xo
really interesting blog!
please visit my blog
Fantastic! Yes I cottoned on to the Big dub boy's shorts at some ridiculously low price a few years ago. Fabulous quality and longevity. SO Not worth your time trying to sew them up when you can get them at that price!
Well done - some great buys there. I really need to make it to BigW - but our closest is now over 100kms away:(
Nice information shared here. It will be really helpful to everyone. I am highly obliged to be here by getting it.
Maternity Evening Wear
bablessHi Corrie, I have always found Big W to be of great value for the whole family. I can't wait until I come back from Australia so that I can go shopping their again.
P.S I love their Christmas decorations range.
Nicky Singh.
Love you blog, it's so inspiring! :D

Looks like a successful shopping trip. I wish I could get someone to do my shopping for me.
Good for you Corrie, it is good to show that budget shopping can be fun and fashionable.
