Well it's Monday! Saturday was a blur with ballet, swimming, our open house and going to look at a few open houses.
Sunday was mass and retro daddy deciding he'd take us all out to lunch. I love it when he annnounces this but I also think he must have a short memory as it never ends well when we go to a 'restarort' as the twins like to call them. Someone always loses the plot and has a total meltdown before the bill is paid. You can never pick who it will be. Yesterday it was this girl.
We went to Cavallino's in Terrey Hills. Such a lovely place if you have a family and you feel as if you're somewhere in Italy. Keira even practised her italian on the waitress. A lovely meal......until I had to rush my profiterroles and warm dark chocolate sauce to get out of there.
And now it's monday and straight back into real life, school, after school activities and stuff. I've decided to get stuck into my knitting while my sewing room is all packed away. I pulled out this almost finished project this morning. I just need to do the sleeves, block it and put buttons on. It's a really cute little newborn project - Puerperium. Don't ask me to say that, or spell it out again. The pattern is on ravelry here.
And the yarn I'm using is amazing, the colour is just so beautiful. I was instantly drawn to the colour as it's something a little different than blue or green for a boy. Not that I know what I'm having yet. You can find it at suzy hausfrau here. And yes I love my rustic dining table as a backdrop for photos.
and the other thing I've been working on is this raglan cardigan which I'm knitting in gender neutral cream. It's been a bit slow going as my eyes start to close after 2 rows but I'm getting there. As best I can. Ravelry details are here
p.s I'm supposed to be on the Today show this week so keep an eye out on Facebook when I let you know which day. Very exciting but I think I'm more nervous about looking how fat oops I mean pregnant I'll look on national tv.

Hello Retromummy,
I have totally the same experience with the family... it all seems like a good idea until.... Mind you, the Belrose Hotel works but it isn't so lovely as Cavallinos. We were at Little Manly yesterday there and the cafe/kiosk there is fab.
Just wanted to say how much I love your photos of the knitting. I'm experimenting more with photos, especially food ones and always find your blog an inspiration.
Take it easy!
You are full of insperation. I love your blog so much, How do you do it???:)
Restaurants - they used to make me break out in hives - I remember when my oldest (22 on Feb 21st) looked at me after we ordered our meal and were waiting for it - opened her mouth and threw up all over me. That was my worst resto experience. And frankly my husband did not make many points when he looked at me in my vomit coloured purple turtleneck and suggested that if I left it on I would ruin the car upholstery. I rode 20 km slouched down in the front seat trying not to show my old nursing bra as we drove home... I found that we planned short, quick restaurant meals - made sure they had colouring materials (hopefully for for paper mats - not the walls ala Elodie) and ordered something that would not take too long to arrive. But some days worked well and some well - I have amnesia for a reason.
Love the knitting. The best part about kiddie stuff is that they are small and knit up relatively quickly...
These are gorgeous - you are so talented!
Selective memory is a wonderful thing when it comes to dining out. There's that picture perfect image in your head of how you want it to be, but it hardly ever works out that way with 4 kids. Food looks very yummy though!
Hope the house hunting going well.
3 girls look so alike!
I can't believe that sweet innocent little face would have a meltdown!
Thank you for you blog and it full of sunshine
hi corrie....absolutely love ur page! you are a wonder woman i tell you! amazing! :)
nice post!
Absolutely gorgeous girls and absolutely gorgeous colors of the yarns for both the projects.
Warmest regards
Ruby
What a hectic weekend Corrie. We did lunch out yesterday also. We managed to avoid any meltdowns, but it was due to one of the boys being asleep for half the lunch and then speeding up the last half once he'd woken up. Inevitably there is always a meltdown of some sort. Love your photos :o) xo
Well, your story makes me realise we are a normal family and that others have meltdowns too.
I do find it hard to get crafty stuff done with the kids around though....
Thanks for the laugh!
cute cardigan, I favourited it in Ravelry as I'm thinking it is a perfect newborn gift project - seamless and unisex, can't get better than that!
What is the red cardigan in your blog header picture? It has such sweet puffed sleeves, I am hoping it's one you knitted yourself from a pattern??
PS - the only restaurant I can go to these days without fear of catastrophe is sushi train!
