Father's Day and Masters

Sponsored by Nuffnang

Father's Day is coming up (on the 2nd September, I had to look it up!) and that means thinking about what to buy for retro daddy. When you find the perfect man and decide to have a family together you hope that they will be a good father to your children. And I can certainly say that retro daddy goes above and beyond and is the best kind of daddy there is. People often will comment to me when we're at an event or party how great retro daddy is with our kids....I never get tired of hearing it.

a young father of one - I was a huge fan of the fountain ponytail!

Once when the kids were all really little - I'm talking babies- he said he couldn't wait till the day he'd come home and call out 'daddy's home' and everyone would come running to him. Now he gets it - as  they come in running and bowl him over. They are allowed to do one big running jump on him and he loves it. The kids love it too. As you know retro daddy works very hard for us and it's nice to say thank you at Father's Day for all the lovely things he does for us.

let's all jump on daddy

And it's kind of funny that this post is for Masters Home Improvement stores. After renovating and selling our last house earlier this year, retro daddy hasn't really had the time, energy or inclination to get stuck into our new house. Even though it is a real renovators delight. We talk about everything that we need to do but just don't have the time to get started. But what I love about Masters is that while daddies can be buying paint brushes, tools and equipment the mummies can be buying lights, rugs, mirrors and curtains. It's my kind of store. And let me tell you that there are some stunning products on the website.

But I've found some lovely gifts for retro daddy on the Masters website - I know he'd love these bedside lamps in our bedroom. Don't you think? What? you don't think daddy would like these on Fathers Day?
or this chair to sit and watch the kids ride their bikes around. Perfect for the man in your life, right?

OK, OK, I'll get serious and show you a few Fathers Day presents but I've had some fun looking around the Masters website and making a little mental wishlist of what I'd like. Can I also share this with you - perfect for our house. But this is  about Father's Day. In this house mummy does the indoor jobs and daddy does the outdoor jobs like taking the bins out, gardens and outdoor maintenance. So I know that Retro daddy would probably love a nice new BBQ and I've been trying to talk him into the Weber Q since you can take it out with you as well as using it at home.
Retro daddy does love the garden and in our very first house he planted so many beautiful fruit trees and natives for us. We haven't even had the time to get stuck into the garden at our new house but I know he'd like a few of these in the garden - Dwarf Lemon Meyer trees.

and one of our other jobs since moving into the house that is on our to do list is planting a hedge around the garden so the kids can actually get out on the grass and we can put a trampoline out there. These hedge plants would be perfect and grow up to 150cm tall and are a great price. I think retro daddy would also love the other items in the huge Garden and Outdoor Living section of the Masters website here. Masters have also created a gift guide for this Fathers Day with lots of present ideas for every budget.

Masters also have a great Fathers Day Competition over at Facebook where you could win your Dad a gift voucher for either $200, $300 or wait for it.................$2500 just by entering a picture of Dad and a few words about him. Just go here to enter. And if you're on pinterest like me check out the Masters boards here.

And what are you buying for Father's Day this year?
p.s keep your eyes peeled for an awesome upcoming giveaway where one of my lucky readers will win a $500 voucher for a room makeover at your place thanks to Masters...........

  1. I have a Dad here who would LOVE a lamp for his bed side table. I amso just found out that there is a Masters within 80km of us (I say that like it is down the road - well it is, there is nothing in this little town) I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the give away.

  2. Oh I do love the chair for sitting and watching the kids outside, but for a Dad, a fruit plant is such a great idea, ever lasting! Pitty my husband isn't too keen on gardening. It will also be our twins first birthday on the 2nd! Perhaps I will go with a massage voucher!? Dad's are always so hard!

  4. Hey Retromummy,

We have a Weber Q and we love it, but I just wanted to say that they are not as portable as they appear in the ads - you also have to lug a gas cylinder around and the other thing is they get really hot (obviously) and you have to wait for them to cool down before you can put them back in the car. Not good for picnics or short trips. However, they are perfect to take on camping trips, which we often do!

  5. Oh dear, my partner is not the gardener, I am. For Father's Day this year, a course for writing as he likes creative writing in his spare time. It could change too.
