on thursday I decided (rather bravely) that I would make keira a quilt for christmas.....by saturday night I was quilting it but I have to say I'm only a third of the way through the quilting so I'll be rushing it over the line for Christmas. Normally I'm baking up a storm in the days before christmas but this is so much better for my waistline....

so here is a sneak peek...it's my first single bed quilt, my first coin quilt and my first jelly roll quilt and I'm loving it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keria is one lucky little girl. What a beautiful quilt and such a nice present!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
you are brave taking on this project so close to Christmas. It looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLucky Keira, very pretty. Didn't I tell you this quilting business (and jelly rolls) are addictive.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt colours! So nice and girly!

ReplyDeletekeep stippling!!!! you can do it! i'm sure she'll love it, it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery gorgeous little quilt.
ReplyDeleteGotta love a jelly roll!!!
You well and truly put me to shame. I've been working (or not working more like it) on Miss B's single bed quilt for over 6 months! Can't wait to see the finished quilt - I already know it's going to be lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty quilt! The Grandmothers Flower garden fabric is perfect.
ReplyDeleteOooh, it looks yummy! I can't wait to see the whole thing. I'm sure Keira will love it -- has she seen you working on it?
ReplyDeleteYour stipple is lovely; nice and smooth and evenly random. I'm guessing, because it's hard to tell scale, but it looks as though it's fairly dense, and that's why it's taking so long. It's a bit late to change now, but for future quilts, make the whole stipple a bit bigger, and it will go that much faster!
ReplyDeleteI always seem to be seized with inspiration a little late then end up rushing to get gifts finished. Can't wait to see your finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteLooking fery pretty! Lots of firsts in this quilt. Lucky Keira!
ReplyDeleteGo Corrie, you are a wonderful mummy to your 3 little ones - I'm sure Keira will just love her new quilt.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family, Christine
OMG Corrie, you really have been in a quilting frenzy! I'm with you, sewing and handmade over crazy shopping malls any day!
ReplyDeletelooking gorgeous...and very much like you have caught the quilting bug!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt! I had grand plans to make quilts for both my kids for Christmas but have been let down by my LQS who have no batting and the order I put in in early December still hasn't arrived so snowballs chance of this happening before Friday. Oh well, maybe for the New Year, or Christmas 2010!!
