Every school holidays we love to go to the
movies! Unfortunately last holidays we were all sick and then I had emerson so
we didn't see any movies. Keira reminds me at least once a week of this fact.
But I think I'm back in her good books after taking them all to a special
screening of Dreamwork's Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted 3D. And in Gold Class no less. They are still telling
people how they got to sit in the huge movie seats and lunch and lemonade was
brought into them. And now we have a video of the time we went to Gold Class.....Finn steals the show
One reason I love taking my guys to the movies so much is that I know that they will sit still. True to form they didn't move the entire movie except to reach out for a piece of pizza!
And then of course as soon as the credits finished Finn came over ' busting' for the toilet. He didn't want to miss one second of the movie by going to the bathroom!!! And this is what it looks like when I take them all to the movies
Now just as the title suggests, Dreamwork's Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted 3D is in 3D and the first of the Madagascar series to be 3D. This makes it a lot of fun as objects appear to be flying out of the screen and right at you. Looking over at the little ones made me laugh as they reacted to flying objects and fireworks. I was going to write that it was funny to see them jump out of their seats in fright but that doesn't make me sound like the caring and loving mummy that I am. But you know what I mean and they loved it!
So what's the storyline? Well Alex, Melman, Gloria and Marty are missing New York so decide it's time to head back. En route through Europe they buy a travelling circus which is the perfect cover for a group of animals to get home. And this is where some really funny characters join the movie.
And of course you can't have a movie without a
baddy who comes in the form of Captain Chantel DuBois. She follows them all the
way to New York and her singing scene is a show stopper. And it wouldn't be a Madagascar movie without those cheeky wisecracking penguins and
Maurice. And you get to meet Maurice's new love interest.............
And what did we think about the movie? We loved
it! It was really different to the previous movies and in fact the kids thought
it was better than the first two and that's saying something as we've watched a
lot of Madagascar in this house. It's bright, colourful fast paced and fun!
There are some really funny parts and some adult humour too which always helps.
Our favourite characters? Well mine is Marty the
zebra, Tillie loves Melman, Keira loves Gloria and Zia while Finn loves Alex
the lion.
So mark your diaries for 13th September for the
Australian release of Dreamwork's
Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted 3D. We'll be seeing it again in the
school holidays. And Finn is already asking when the DVD comes out. He's a
smart one! If you have some Madagascar obsessed little ones be sure to check
out the Facebook page here you can book your
Family Gold Class tickets at Event Cinemas here (oh go see it
in Gold Class, go on!). And lots of fun activities and downloads can be found here just in time for the holidays.

ones! Just tell me your favourite character from the Madagascar series and some lucky readers will win some fun Madagascar 3 prizes. Just don't tell
Finn if you win as he is very disappointed that he isn't getting any. The prizes include a ‘Madagascar 3’ film poster, digital watch, Juggling backpack

ReplyDeleteMelman. It's his name. For some reason, my younger children will say his name - "Mel-man" and then start giggling! The rest of us then start laughing because THEY are so funny!
ReplyDeleteMelman is my fave! He's way too hilarious :)
ReplyDeleteOur favourite is Marty. Well was, now it's Finn and his dance moves.

ReplyDeleteWe are a Marty house:)
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE King Julian!

Glorias a big favourite at our place. This looks so much fun and yes Finn did steal the show. LOVE Gold Class but havent been for such a long time - and not ever with the kids. Maybe its time to venture back there again
ReplyDeleteWow, that all looked so awesome. You must have all had a fabulous time. My kids are the same at the movies - they really zone in and don't move the entire time.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite characters are the penguins and King Julian. Soooo funny and as you said a bit of adult humour makes it more enjoyabel for mum.
Gotta say King Julian.
ReplyDeleteCause the Bozo's have the people.
He's just too funny. :)
King Julian cause he likes to 'move it move it' and that makes me smile every single time.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Marty. The entire family were singing 'polka afro' for a week after that film. Sadly we didn't get to see it in 3D, but maybe they'll re-release it out here.....
ReplyDeleteLove the penguins - their dry humour is very funny
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Melman Melman Melman...Melman Melman Melman ;)
ReplyDeleteWe absolutely LOVE King Julian!!! Good old "Ringtail" is just too funny!!!! On a side note, I love the pic of little Tillie, looks like her big day out at the movies got the better of her on the ride home. . . sweet : )
ReplyDeleteMy goodness these photos are gorgeous Corrie, what a fun day! I loved your video of the day also, your little ones are naturals in front of the camera, so cute.
ReplyDeleteMy boys have not yet seen any of the Madagascar movies, but I think they would be quite into them. Might have to get along to the movies... and buy the first two on DVD! xo
We love them all! My daughter likes Mort- the little fluffy squirrel thing that follows king Julian and my son Mason likes the smart monkeys because one is called Mason! He had a Madagascar party when he was four and I made Gloria pies using a hippo cookie cutter and they puffed up like little 3D hippos.
ReplyDeleteI did a survey around the house & we all like the penguins the best. Have you ever watched that short film about the penguin's christmas? Hilarious :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Alex the Lion! My grandson loves all lions and Alex is so strong looking! Great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteKing Julian! He's a hoot!
ReplyDeleteLove Gloria, if Modern Family has taught us anything, all Glorias are amazing women with awesome personalities, the Madagascar Gloria is just bursting at the seams with fun & vibrance, not to mention loud voice & antics. Too much fun. I love this franchise & can just imagine the movies get better & better, they have all been a bit different, that is their trick, to mix up the story lines so it's not a poor copy of the original. Love the movies, would love to see this one too, love Posie
ReplyDeleteMelman takes the cake in our home!
ReplyDeleteWe love Gloria the Hippo, she's the voice of reason and the only female in the group!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite character is Skipper. Come on, what is more awesome than a penguin ninja/spy? :D
ReplyDeleteThey are all so cool but I love Melman. His undying love for Gloria is too cute.
ReplyDeleteCooper loves Marty as hes funny and cheeky like him! Pep loves Gloria being the firly girl she is! Thanks for the giveaway chance and glad your kids lived Goldclass! Cooper finds it hard going back to the typical session after a Goldclass experience! ;)
ReplyDeleteMelman! Not only because he is voiced by Ross from Friends, he is also very cute and funny! His love for medicine and anything to do with his health is just so comical! =)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Melman! He is such a hypochondriac and so awkward. I loved him all dressed up as the witch doctor!
